Een goede thriller valt of staat met spanning, een goed verhaal, maar ook met overtuigend acteerwerk. Met Denzel Washington, John Goodman, Donald Sutherland en James Gandolfini hebben de makers wel een aantal zwaargewichten voor de camera staan die een film als Fallen kunnen dragen. Het succes van de bovennatuurlijke thriller is dan ook grotendeels aan hen te danken.
